December News

As we close out 2016 we want to let you know what is happening this month:

December 1st – We will start our new “Grab and Go” Breakfast Model. This will cut down on students in the lunchroom eating breakfast and being late to class. Students who do not arrive to school by 7:50 am (breakfast starts at 7:40 am) will line up with their class on the playground and go through the lunchroom on their way to class and grab a breakfast to eat in class. We encourage parents to get their kids to school by 7:40 am and to remind them to eat breakfast before they go play on the playground.

December 5th – 11th – Our students will participate in the “Hour of Code” in our computer lab with Mr. Clisham. The Hour of Code started as a one-hour introduction to computer science to show that anybody can learn the basics, and to broaden participation in the field of computer science. This happens every year during Computer Science Education Week which this year is December 5-11. Please talk to your child about what they learned when coding.

December 8th – Title One/Dunlap Literacy Night 6-7:30 pm – Come out and join us for a night of tips and tricks on how to help your child exceed in reading.

December 12th – 16th – Second and Third graders will get their teeth checked and if needed sealants will be applied to their teeth by the Public Health Department’s Dental Sealant Team.

December 16th – Last day before the break dismissal will be at 1:05 pm

December 19th – January 2nd – Winter Break – School will resume on January 3rd
