Math
Dunlap School is using the math adoption Math in Focus at our school. It was adopted as the SPS elementary textbook in 2014, and is based on the Singapore method.

Balanced Literacy
To ensure that pre-kindergarten through fifth grade students become proficient and critical readers and writers, motivated to read and write throughout their lives.
The literacy program is based on a comprehensive, balanced approach in which reading and writing are regarded as complementary processes that promote higher level thinking skills.

Head Start
Head Start is a Federal program that promotes school readiness for children ages 3 to 5 by enhancing their cognitive, social and emotional development. Head Start works to support healthy families that are actively involved and engaged. Children and families receive services and education in the areas of health/nutrition, family support, social emotional development and parenting.
Beginning this school year, 2019-20, our Headstart classes will be full day. To learn more about our programs or to enroll your child, please contact the Headstart office at 206-252-0972.
