School Leadership Announcement
Dear Dunlap Elementary School Community,
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Chelsea Adams-Fields as the next principal of Dunlap Elementary.
Principal Adams-Fields is a proud product of Seattle Public Schools (SPS), having grown up in the community and graduated from Cleveland High School. Her commitment to education is deeply personal and grounded in her own experiences as a student in the district.
With over 14 years of experience in education, she began her career in SPS as an instructional assistant before becoming a classroom teacher. Over the course of her teaching career, she has taught 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade, as well as middle school math, building a strong foundation in both elementary and middle school instruction. For the past three years, she has served as an assistant principal, supporting school communities in strengthening instructional practices, building inclusive systems, and fostering a positive school culture.
Principal Adams-Fields holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in International Studies: African Diaspora, a Master of Education, and a Principal Certification through the University of Washington’s Danforth Educational Leadership Program. Throughout her career, she has remained committed to equity, strong relationships, and ensuring that every student has access to high quality learning experiences.
She is honored to continue her leadership journey as the principal of Dunlap Elementary, serving the community that helped shape her as both a student and an educator.
Principal Adams-Fields will officially join the Dunlap community for the 2026–27 school year. She will attend the upcoming staff meeting on Wednesday, April 29, as well as the next PTSA meeting or community event to introduce herself and begin building relationships with staff and families.
I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to Interim Principal Nooria Miskell for her hard work, leadership, and dedication to the Dunlap community this year. Her commitment to students, staff, and families has been deeply valued during this time of transition.
Please join me in warmly welcoming Principal Adams-Fields to Dunlap Elementary. I am confident her leadership will continue to strengthen the school’s mission of preparing students to become strong readers, writers, and mathematicians, while inspiring them to become lifelong learners ready for college and career.
Sincerely,
Ben Shuldiner
Superintendent
Seattle Public Schools
